As a store and residential designer, this site shows you some of the work I have done in stores and homes in the tri-state area, Georgia, Delaware and California.
Some of the many companies that I have designed for or displayed their products are: Department 56, Vera Bradley, Candle Depts, Gourmet Depts.,Flower & Gift shops, Boscov's Department Stores, Waterloo Gardens, many Garden Centers, many Hallmark stores and more.
I have done total build-outs for both temporary and permanent stores like: Hallmark, Build-a-Basket temp stores, Temp Christmas Shops in regional malls, Hotel lobbies, Cocktail Lounges etc....
With over 40+ years in retail, my consulting or business coaching has been very valuable to many clients. I will help you see your business from today's view and get the proper prospective and tools to make changes that really count. Don't wait until it's too late to turn things around. Change is what most clients want as long as everything "stays the same" LOL Change is constant and many small shops are still doing things the way they did the day they opened the store, that's extremely dangerous thinking today. If you aren't excited about change from the windows to the way you buy, then it's only a matter of time until you close...
Private homes include: Additions, kitchen expansions, interior decorating with picking the right colors, fabrics, window treatments, moldings and lighting. We will be posting my work as time allows.
Department 56 has been a major success story for my clients with them showing an increase in sales when I finish a complete Village display featuring all the accessories in very realistic scenes that always increase the "Add-on" sales improving the IAT. From Dickens' Village, Christmas in the City, New England, North Pole to Snow Village, I give you the details that sell merchandise. The customers leave wanting to duplicate my scenes, not only from the basic building, but to the street lights, roads, sidewalks, walls, steps, trees etc. When my scenes make customers say "if they could shrink, they could move in." then I know I did a good job.
See the many "before & after" pictures of complete Department 56 Village selling areas. Many of these are "Shadowbox" style, which has proven to sell more merchandise than dioramas. Shadowbox scene relate more to the collector's homes, where they use book shelves, hutches, mantles, niches etc. Diorama collectors are the most vocal, but they are in the vast minority, because most people do not have the room for a diorama. Shelf displays should be priced both individually and as a complete unit. Stores that have done that actually sell entire shelves, which may include up to 4 or 5 houses and all the details that went into make a realistic setting.
Sincerely,

Bill Sheldon
